I am currently in my second year of the Ph.D program after completing a BSc in Marine Biology from the University of Wales, Swansea, and an MA in Geology from Queens College, City University of New York. I am interested in rates of metal uptake in bony fish and elasmobranchs via various pathways, the retention of these metals, and the distribution within the animal’s body. My current research involves exposing two populations of the Atlantic Silverside Menidia menidia to various metals via the aqueous phase and dietary exposure. Future research will focus on metal uptake into fish via the benthic foodweb. All of my research considers public health consequences. |
